LB's Filmmaking 101
Hey all:
1. I tell this to many folks: If you can watch your own film over and over, then you have something good.
2. In that same vein, write and film about something like, or know. Care about the material. Trust me, it helps.
3. I used to believe that filmmaking was a wasteful career. I was also full of shit.
Filmmaking is sexy. Period. The sense of control and power in a creative venture is something worthwhile, and very attractive. I love my movies, and you should love your movies, too.
You can make a good film with bad equipment. I'd take that over a bad film with good equipment any day.
I've gotten better with experience. From my first venture with a camera to Walpurgisnacht, there's a definite improvement. I can't watch my old stuff... but I love WP.
To that end, I've written a comedy.
No, that's not a typo... nor is it April 4th.
Problem is, I don't know if it's funny.
We'll see.
